Merry Christmas! It has been a fun and special Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house, especially since Brielle is into Christmas this year and understands the holiday. Of course the twins loved getting new toys too! The past two nights have been late ones for Justin and I, as assembly is required for EVERYTHING these days. If Santa could send some elves for assembly work next year that would be awesome. It was worth it all though, to see the look on their surprised and excited faces this morning! The kids are now having fun this morning playing outside. It has been very warm here in Texas this Christmas season. Yesterday it was in the mid seventies. Which was quite nice for us, since trampolines can’t be assembled inside.

Last night Justin grilled steaks outside while the kids played and we sat in the outdoor patio watching Christmas movies,. After dinner and baths we sat around the Christmas tree and each child opened one gift before bed. The boys opened their dump truck and digger truck. They wouldn’t let go of them, so they slept with them last night. Before they went up to their beds Justin read the Christmas story from the bible. He read it right from the ornament I had made that had all the scriptures printed on it.https://livingjoydaily.com/2015/12/16/holiday-ornament-with-a-purpose/

Our church (Gateway Church) does their Christmas candlelight service the weekend before Christmas, so we had already attended that last weekend. Last year, we went to a candlelight Christmas Eve service at White’s Chapel (the church where I attend MOPS). We decided to not go to it this year because there is no childcare and kids must be able to sit through the 1 hour service. Our twins are not that patient, although how many two year olds are patient? We will try to take them next year on Christmas Eve. At least we got to attend the candlelight service at our church last weekend.

Here are some of the photos from Christmas Eve. Of course the kids all had matching new PJs too.

Brielle set out cookies and eggnog for Santa after the twins went to bed. We ate all the homemade cookies we had, so Santa got Vanilla Wafers we found in the pantry. He didn’t mind. They were all eaten by morning.

IMG_7196Christmas morning came early. Justin was up and showered at 6 AM. We had the Christmas music playing and everything set up for the kids before we went upstairs to get them. They were all awake and ready to celebrate Christmas before we went upstairs. We said a prayer together thanking God for the birth of the Jesus, which is the best gift of all.

Then we headed downstairs and the fun of new toys began!

I am not sure who liked Brielle's car better, her or the Twins?

Charlie and Alex’s Favorite gift? The train set and train table. I glued the set down to the train table using E6000 glue, so the tracks are now permanently in place. If I hadn’t done that every piece from the set would now be on the floor. We didn’t want to see that happen, since it took 2 hours to assemble the set. Great instructions were provided, just tedious work.

We plan to enjoy the rest of our Christmas day outside. Although, I know that twins will want to get back inside at some point to play with the trains. For now they can wear themselves out on the trampoline and chasing behind Brielle’s car as she races around the yard.
