My parents came to visit for over a week during the month of December just before Christmas. During their visit my Mom painted a four-foot by five-foot canvas. I explained what I wanted and then we searched for images online. I wanted cherry blossoms and a bird in the painting. After she finished the painting (or thought she had finished) I changed my mind and decided I wanted the bird to be a peacock. Thankfully, I have a mother who is equally understanding as she is talented and she spent a few hours making the change for me. I love my Mom! I wish I had her artistic talents. My sister Rachel inherited her ability to paint. I believe painting is like singing. Either you were born with the talent or you were not. You can mold, shape, and perfect that talent, much like you can other talents. However, you have to be blessed with God given talent to begin. My Mom and sister Rachel were blessed with that talent and gift to paint. I am thankful that they bless our family with their talents, as we have artwork from both in our home.

I had the artwork my Mom painted in December framed at Hobby Lobby. I was very pleased with the outcome. I love the new look in our living room. Thank you Mom! It is a beautiful, creative, original work of art and I am thankful I get to enjoy it in my home!
