This past Saturday night we attended the Upbring Ball at the Fort Worth Club. My friend, and fellow Lake Cities Moms of Multiples board member, Melissa Gorgas is on the planning committee for this function. She did a fabulous job, along with the other committee members. It was a wonderful event with great atmosphere, first class cuisine, inspirational speakers, and a silent auction that had us bidding quite a bit. We were the high bidder on a couple of items and we were happy to support a great cause at the same time! I am excited to use our one week condo stay at AngelFire, New Mexico. I hope to make all of my kids love downhill skiing like I do! I am not great at many sports (not being modest, it’s the truth), but I can ski! I was a ski instructor at Wintergreen resort while I was in college. I taught literally hundreds of kids to ski, so hopefully I can do the same with my kids within the next year at AngelFire, thanks for this silent auction win and our support of Upbring.

Upbring is an amazing organization in Texas. It is the largest provider of foster care and adoption services in Texas. My Mom grew up in foster homes. We had a number of foster children in our home while I was growing up. Justin and I were licensed foster parents for several years and took in a total of 7 children during that time. Our foster daughter we had for 15 months we tried very hard to adopt as well. We have a heart for kids without parents and family. We have our hands full with our kiddos, but it was so wonderful to get connected with Upbring and the great work they are doing in Texas. I can easily see myself getting more involved with this organization, as they are truly making a huge impact on our state.

Here are some of the photos from our night at the Upbring Red Ball.
