When we moved to Southlake the playground within Bicentennial park had just been completely removed. I was dispappointed because it is a very large park close to our home. I had no idea the big plans they had for that park! I am now thankful that they did renovate the park. My kids are the right age to start enjoying playgrounds. This is not just a regular playground either. That wouldn’t do for Southlake. They went above and beyond with a state of the art playground. The playground is just one facet of this new park too! They have fields, batting cages, nice clean bathrooms, and so much more! Other areas of the park are still under construction, so I can wait to see what is to come!
At this new playground they have zip lines, huge custom slides, a splash pad, a playground for small tots, a sand play area, spinning rides I have never seen at another park, a large playground, a giant climbing structure, caves, stationary musical instruments the kids can play, and so much more! Kids can’t do it all in one visit! I love the fact that the park is completely fenced in with a heavy gate that small kids can’t open. No chance my kids can run into the parking lot, thank goodness. They have plenty of trees here too, so there is lots of shade.
- Our first time at the park and of course I didn’t know there was a splash pad. There was no chance of keeping my kids out of the water, so I took the twins clothing off (except their onesies).
- Brielle and Charlie could have stayed there all day.
- Super duper long double slides. The kids move fast on these. I saw a number of kids crying on this one. Not mine though. They tend to be a bit more fearless than I would like.

Zip Line! Also the reason we left the park on our second visit. Brielle had a melt down wanting to keep riding this and the twins wanted to play elsewhere. The meltdown led to us departing the park. Oh the joy of having a threeager! Lesson learned for Brielle. At least we know she likes it!!
- These are actually musical instruments kids can play. We haven’t even done that part of the park yet in the two visits we have been there.
