On Sunday night I decided to take all three kids to the Dallas Arboretum the next day by myself. They have a great pumpkin exhibit going on right now and Mondays are the special day at the arboretum with extra programs for kids. The weather was perfect for the venture out, as the high was 72 degrees. The kids had a fabulous time. I am exhausted. A three-year old and 22 month old twins at a large public venue chasing kids is exhausting. Brielle was sweet and tried to help me chase the twins. The funny thing is that when they know they are being chased they think it’s a game and they run faster and farther. It is now Tuesday night and I am still exhausted from Monday. I am glad they got to enjoy and experience God’s beautiful fall creation though. The fall colors are delightful and God has the best taste when it comes to making colors for each season.
My kids especially enjoyed the children’s adventure area at the Arboretum. It is a large area of the arboretum that has interactive, fun exhibits for the kids. Although my kids probably liked the pumpkin exhibit the best. The were obsessed with climbing the mountains of pumpkins. What can you expect from 22 month old twins though?
It was a fun day at the Arboretum, but to be honest I will go with Justin next time, to help me chase the kids and then he can enjoy the fun too. The wide open spaces and gardens are perfect for playful kids, but it is a lot of work for one adult. I heard at least a dozen times “wow, you have your hands full”. My response “yes, I do”, with a smile, because my heart is full as well. Thank you God for my full hands and full heart. Thank you to my husband for being my soul mate, partner by my side, and love of my life raising these 3 sweet, fun, loving, and overly energetic kids. I thank God everyday for this family he has given me.
