Another mini dessert that I made for my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Moms’ Night Out at my house this week was an Oreo no bake recipe. These are very simple, only require a few ingredients, and are quick to make. They are quite a decadent dessert, which is why I like serving this one in small dessert shot glasses. I don’t feel like I am gorging myself on large quantities of this if they are in these small size cups- even if I have 2 or 3 of them over the course of the evening. These are definitely a favorite in my household.
Here are the steps to make this dessert:
Step 1: Gather the ingredients-
- A package of regular Oreos (14.3 ounces= 36 cookies)
- 1/2 stick of butter (4 tablespoons)
- 8 ounces of regular cream cheese (softened)
- 1 small box of vanilla instant pudding
- A container of 8 ounces of Cool Whip
- 2 1/2 cups of cold milk (2% or whole milk- don’t use low fat or it may not set up)
Step 2: Make the cookie mixture. This will be used for the bottom of the dessert cups and also sprinkled on the top of each dessert cup too. To make the cookie mixture I used my food processor. I added only a few cookies at a time until the entire package was crumbles. I then added the half a stick of melted butter and mixed it into the cookie crumbles while it was still in the food processor.
Step 3: I put the cookie mixture into the small shot glass cups, filling the bottom third of each glass with the cookie crumbles. I saved enough of the crumbles so that each dessert could have sprinkles of the crumbles on top.
Step 4: Next it is time to make the filling. Using a hand mixer blend the small box of instant pudding powder with 2 1/2 cups of cold milk (please ignore that the box says it needs only 2 cups, as this recipe needs 2 1/2 to balance out the other ingredients you will be adding). Once the pudding powder and 2 1/2 cups of milk are mixed completely then add the softened cream cheese. Mix with a hand mixer until completely blended. Finally, fold in the Cool Whip until the mixture is blended.
Step 5: Now you can pour this white, creamy mixture over the cookie crumbles in each cup. Fill to the top, allowing just enough space so they don’t overflow and you can add more crumbles to the top.
Step 6: Sprinkle cookie crumbles on top of each mini dessert cup.
Step 7: Refrigerate this dessert so it can solidify a bit. It does not take long. I refrigerated mine just 2 hours before the party.
These turned out well, and are quick and easy to make! They look delicious in the glass mini dessert glasses and taste even better!
Oh that looks so pretty and so delicious! I definitely need to try this for one of my parties. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!
