I love to dress up. It’s just who I am. Everyone is different, but I prefer dressy clothing on a normal, everyday basis. I simply like the way I feel dressed up. I dislike t-shirts in general. I wear them on rare occasions, but if I had to wear a t-shirt every day I would not be especially happy. I have family members that are the exact opposite, which is completely ok. If we all dressed the same the world would be a boring place. Clothes can be an expression of who we are or how we are feeling. I love to dress up because to me it is fun and I feel good dressed up. I enjoy shopping, coordinating outfits, finding unique accessories, and hats are my favorite part of a wardrobe. They can bring personality and artful expression to an outfit.

I buy trendy clothing each season, but my preference is toward classic clothing that won’t go out of style soon. Think of Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn style that is classic and timeless. Kate Middleton has that style nailed. It is the type of style that is classically beautiful and is appreciated in the decades to come. I embrace that classic style. I don’t dress that way everyday, but it is the style I generally feel most comfortable and inclined toward. It’s not for everyone and that’s ok! Like I said, the world would be boring if we all liked the same things and dressed alike.

Buying classic pieces for your wardrobe are always a good investment, because the style can last far longer than any trendy article of clothing. I tend to literally wear out my classic pieces before they ever go out of style. I wish that was the case with all of my clothing, but unfortunately trends fall by the wayside and end up in the back of the closet. I appreciate a good classic when I can find one.
