I recently started a Facebook group for ladies who live, work, or kids go to school in Southlake, TX. It was my friend Robin Browne who convinced me to get one started. I am following the model of the Colleyville Moms Facebook group page that she created. Her page is a positive, uplifting, supportive group that has community wide activities, they support local charities, and they also give Joy Bags to Moms who are sick. She is making a difference in her community! I am following her example and started up Joy Bags in the “Moms of 76092” Facebook group. I posted a request for volunteers in the group to get the Joy Bags started and the response has been overwhelming! I am so thankful to live in a community where the ladies want to support and help one another. They are the true example of “loving thy neighbor”.
To get the joy bags started I first went to my gift closet to see what I had on hand. Then I went shopping. I wanted to share what kind of things are helpful for the Joy Bags, so my readers have some ideas to make their own Joy Bags or get-well bags for their friends and family. Here is some of the things I gathered up so far:
I dropped off our first bag this morning and here is what I put in it, so you can see an example:
I asked the team of volunteers who are helping with our Joy Bags for suggestions on what to put in the bags, below is what we collectively came up with. I thought this list can be helpful to anyone who is looking to make a get well bag for a loved one.
