This weekend was the 5th annual Glory Gals retreat in Chetek, WI. It was a weekend to be remembered for years to come. Not only because we had a blizzard in the middle of April this weekend, but because of the incredible spiritual revival that took place. God was present and active at Glory Gals! I look forward to this weekend all year long and it never disappoints, because God makes it great!

I learned a great deal this weekend from a variety of speakers and took away valuable life application from every presentation. Many of the speakers based their presentations on specific books that have personally inspired their lives. I want to recommend the top three on my list that were mentioned this weekend of which I already personally ordered.

Books

The first book I recommend is one that I cannot believe I didn’t already own! It will now be on my nightstand indefinitely because it is amazing! I ordered it via amazon, it has arrived already and I began to read it immediately. The book is “40 Days to a Joy Filled Life”. I highly recommend this book which is helpful to anyone! It is based on the Phillipians 4:8 principle which reads:

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

The second book I recommend is “The Growth Mindset”. It is a guide for personal and professional growth. Here is the Amazon link:

The third book I recommend is “When Two Become One”. This book is for married couples and is about enhancing intimacy in marriage. Life Coach Emily Eichstadt gave a great presentation based on this book. I believe we can all work to enhance our intimacy in marriage. She presented some great tips that are from the book. Glory Gals 2018

This year was so much fun! We were in a literal April blizzard, but I don’t think any of us truly cared because we were exactly where we needed to be. Thankfully, the weather cleared enough on Sunday afternoon that when it was time to leave the roads were plowed and we could all head home.

This year, instead of our annual dress up dinner on Saturday evening, we had a pajama night! It worked out perfectly since it was snowing a ton outside and our jammies were warm and cozy. The fire was roaring inside the main lodge as we watched a movie, had snacks, and a variety of pampering stations to do such things as nail wraps, food soak, Crafts, and make our own heat/cold pack.

Here are some photos from our fun pajama night. I think my aunt Susan had the best themed jammies, with matching headpiece and slippers. So creative and fun!
